Multi-business real estate office space wanted an addition to their mixed-use social space. They were interested in an oak and black wood contrast. I had wanted to try my hand at Shou-Sugi-Ban, a method of sealing wood by crystalizing the natural sap when exposed to fire. I was successful in convincing them to choose that, and it came out great. Charred Cedar (Thuja plicata), Red Oak (Quercus rubra), Hot Rolled Steel with storage under bench seating.
